Trampoline Buying Guide |
When buying a trampoline, you need to start with three basic questions:
Who is the Trampoline for? If you our buying a trampoline for a small child or one child for that matter, you will need far less jump area then if you were purchasing the trampoline for teenage kids. While each manufacture has their own specific product ratings, in general, the smaller the end user, the smaller the trampoline they need. Larger trampolines tend to accommodate more weight due to more surface space (Please consult any owners manual prior to purchasing a trampoline to confirm capacities). While the end users physical size will be a determining factor, also take into account the skill level of any user before purchasing. If a skilled acrobat fits the physical specifications of a trampoline but overloads the springs during use, this can present a potentially dangerous situation. In general, we recommend buying the largest size and capacity trampoline that your budget and space can handle. Where will the trampoline be located? Most trampolines are manufactured to endure year round outdoor climates. If you plan on leaving your trampoline outside all the time, make sure that the brand you purchase uses springs made of galvanized steel. Without galvanized steel your springs will quickly rust from rain or snow. Typically, all other parts of the trampoline our made of weather resistant materials such as PVC or Polypropylene. Another consideration with regards to location is a safety zone. It is vital to leave a sufficient amount of room around the trampoline in the unfortunate event that the bouncer falls off. Also be conscious of over hanging branches or limbs that could break loose during a storm. What is my budget? Obviously this is a question that only you can answer. As stated above, we always recommend purchasing the largest size and capacity that your budget can accommodate. As with most things, you typically get what you pay for and there is a difference is trampoline quality. |
